About Zanzibar Beaches (Nungwi)
At the northern tip of Unguja island, Nungwi is known for calm, tide-independent water and some of Zanzibar's finest beaches. Traditional wooden dhows still launch from the shore each morning, much as they have for generations of local fishermen. The area has grown into a hub for diving and snorkelling trips to nearby reefs, alongside sunset cruises and beachfront seafood restaurants.
